Myasthenia Gravis

 MYASTHENIA GRAVIS

This is a disease marked by great weakness of skeletal muscle. The body produces antibodies against acetyl choline receptors. As a result many of these are destroyed. Transmission at the myoneural junction is much reduced resulting in weakness of muscles. Some improvement is obtained by administration of anti-choline esterase drugs like neostigmine.
